Self-esteem refers to the value we place on ourselves as individuals. It is common for people to experience times in their lives when they doubt themselves, question their sense of worth; wonder if they are good enough and criticise themselves in various ways.

It can result in difficult feelings such as feeling sad, depressed, lonely, anxious or perhaps, even guilty or experiencing shame.
